About Giulio Coraggio

I got the idea of creating a blog on the Internet of Things when I realised that this area had a massive potential, but for instance data protection and telecom law issues affecting smart home and connected cars projects are sometimes ignored.

This blog is run by me, Giulio Coraggio (here is my profile on DLA Piper website) and I am a technology, data protection, Internet, telecom, commercial and gambling lawyer qualified both in Italy and in England and Wales working for the law firm DLA Piper.  I am listed by the Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners as an individual that “stands out for his dedication, knowledge and expertise” and by Who’s Who Legal in the section Sports & Entertainment.

I have the huge privilege of working in the technology sector that is also one of my passions which I always try to share with my clients trying to adopt a business oriented approach also because behind a lawyer there is always an entrepreneur. Over the years I have been assisting world leading information technology and online companies as well as online and land-based gambling, e-commerce, e-payment and search engine operators on a wide range of matters and deals.

And, as you can see from my LinkedIn recommendations, clients seem to like the way I advice them (or at least they say so).  What is my work mainly focused on? I advise many prominent companies on both their day-to-day matters and major regulatory and commercial issues, privacy and data protection issues, outsourcing, sourcing and technology agreements, license agreements, payment and sponsorship deals as well as advertising and distribution and franchising agreements.

Finally I really like to share opinions and knowledge with main actors in my field of operation and therefore I am the blogmaster of this blog and of GamingTechLaw, I contribute to DLA Piper’s blogs IPTitaly and All-in and I am quite often a speaker at conferences and webinars on technology and gaming issues.  You can find here the slides of some of my last presentations.  And if you like sharing ideas on the law of the Internet of Things please join the IoTLaw LinkedIn Group.

I hope that you will enjoy the blog and here are my contact details!
